Faux Paws Pet Grooming Policies

We are a ONE on ONE
Grooming Service Provider

We strive to book appointments based on the amount of time your pet takes to complete the groom.  Your pet is our priority during your appointment.   Please read through all of these policies before your appointment.  When you bring your pet to your appointment you attest that you understand and AGREE to these policies.

Customers cannot be in the salon during the grooming process, with the exception of nail clipping, or prescheduled parent-assist appointments (at an extra fee).

Vaccinations
All pets over 18 weeks old must be current on Rabies Vaccination. Please text picture of vaccination documentation to 719-645-1505 or email vaccination records to fauxpawspetgrooming@gmail.com.  Effective 1/1/2025 We are required by our regulatory agency, PACFA to have on record, Rabies, Parvo and Distemper vaccination records.

Payment is due at the completion of service.  We accept check and all major credit cards.  Returned checks will incur a $25 fee.  We do not accept cash payments.

Cancellation/No-Show/Late-Show Policy
Faux Paws Pet Grooming requires 24-hour notice for all cancellations or reschedules.  No-Shows and failure to give 24-hour notice will result in a $40 FEE per Appointment.  For Example: If you book 4 appointments for your 4 dogs, the total No-Show/Cancellation fee will be $160.00.

Appointments/Pickup and Drop off
We schedule appointments by phone call, text or email. During business hours, it may be difficult for us to hear the phone ring or answer your call personally.  Feel free to leave a voice message or text us your appointment request.  We will get with you by the end of business that day.

Customers must be on-time to appointments. Customers arriving 15 minutes past their appointment time will be considered a No-Show, we no longer have time to complete your groom.   You will be assessed the $40 No Show Fee.  Please contact us prior to arriving more than 15 minutes early to ensure we can receive your pet.

Customers are asked to pick up pets within 1-hour of grooming completion to avoid a Late Pick-Up-Fee of $20.  We do not have the kennel space to house your pet for longer than necessary.   Likewise, we do not toilet, provide food or water to your dog during their stay with us, so it is important that they are picked up timely.  Customers who pick up late after closing will be charged $40 per dog fee

Matted Coat
De-matting (combing out or using dematting tools) is a painful, time-consuming and a costly procedure that causes extreme discomfort to your pet and can aggravate, or cause skin problems.  Faux Paws Pet Grooming will NOT de-mat your pet's coat.   You may be given 2 options if your pet is matted.  Shave the mats out of the coat which may include shaving down the entire coat or stop the grooming process so you can find a provider that can provide the services you desire.   A minimum $40 fee may apply if you decide to stop the grooming process.  Shave downs and shaving out mats may come at an additional fee.

Shaving your pet dramatically changes your pet’s appearance.  This may expose pre-existing skin conditions.  Closely shaved pets are prone to sunburn & should either have sunscreen applied daily or should be kept out of the sun until the hair grows sufficiently to protect the skin.

In certain breeds & coat types, the coat may not grow back the same.  Removing a heavily matted coat includes the risk of nicks, cuts and/or abrasions due to moles, warts or skin folds trapped in the mats. Heavy matting can also trap moisture near the pet’s skin which can cause mold, fungus, bacteria or skin irritations that exist prior to the grooming process.

The after-effects of mat removal procedures may include itchiness, skin redness, self-inflicted irritations or abrasions, failure of hair to re-grow and changes to the coat condition or texture.  Customer is responsible for the condition of the pet’s coat and will not hold Faux Paws Pet Grooming responsible in the event of adverse effects of mat shaving.

Safety/Dog Behavior
Customers must notify Faux Paws Pet Grooming of any history of any aggression or behavior issues.  It is at the discretion of your Pet Stylist if we will proceed with the grooming process.  In the event the behavior of your pet is unsafe for the pet or the groomer, Faux Paws Pet Grooming reserves the right to cease the grooming process and send the pet home.   You may be charged a minimum $40 for the groom or the full grooming price depending upon how much of the groom we were able to complete.

Accidents
Faux Paws Pet Grooming uses extreme caution while grooming your pets.  However, we must use shears and blades around your pets to perform the grooming process.  Accidents are very rare but there exists a possibility an accident may occur.  These may include, clipper burns, cuts, nicks, scratches, cutting the nail quick, etc.  Your pet's safety is our primary concern.  In the event an accident does occur, you will be notified.  If your pet requires veterinary care we will seek immediate veterinary care for your pet.

Senior Pets and Pets with Health Issues
The grooming procedure can sometimes be stressful, especially for a senior pet or a pet with health problems.  It is at Faux Paws Pet Grooming's discretion as to whether we will proceed with a groom on dogs with these challenges.
We will not groom a dog with open sores, or if the dog still has stitches.  Please acquire vet clearance for grooming after surgery.  A $40 appointment fee may apply if pets are sent home due to any of these challenges.

Infestation/Salon Sanitation
Pets arriving with suspected lice or any communicable diseases will be sent home immediately.  We Immediately sanitize the salon to ensure other pet safety.

Pets arriving with fleas or ticks will be treated immediately with a flea and tick dip at an additional charge of $40.  Please let us know ahead of time if you know of an infestation.  Our salon is sanitized with insecticide & disinfectant immediately after an infestation is discovered.   There may be side effects of utilizing this product on your pet to include but not limited to allergic reactions or skin irritations.   Please note, that these treatments are not guaranteed to be 100% effective.

Touch-up's
We strive to keep our customer happy and as always, we want to ensure you are happy with the groom we provided your pet.  In the event you would like us to fix/shorten a groom, you will need to contact us within 24 hours of the completion of the groom and schedule your dog for a complimentary touch-up groom within 7 days of the initial groom.
